		Where do I start? 1. Begin by being an intercessor. 2. Devote yourself to the task. Give time to it. 3. Be confident! (If God has called you; He has also called the resources.) “And my God shall meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:19

THE FOUNDATIONS OF FUNDRAISING

Foundation 1 – Prayer.
Perhaps more than any other single factor, prayer can be the key to raising funds. The Lord can work without us obviously, but He desires that we ask Him. “Ask and you will receive, and your job will be complete.” John 16:24

Foundation 2 – Spiritual Preparedness.
Make time every day to have time with God, praying, studying His word, getting your heart in the right place to go and serve.

Foundation 3 – Planning and Preparation for making needs known.
If the Lord directs you to make your needs known, you need to ask the Lord how to plan and prepare. The purpose of fundraising is to get money, but remember that money is not an end in itself. It is simply a resource, an indispensable one for achieving one of the objectives Jesus gave you, which is “to go and make disciples of all nations.”

Foundation 4 – The Presentation.
Remember that people give to people. Keep in mind that you are not going for the person’s money, but you are going for Him. Avoid the approach that communicates, “I’m here to get something.” Emphasize the idea that “I want you to join me in this exciting ministry of helping to fulfill the Great Commission.” This places the emphasis where it should be – on developing friendships rather than on getting money. If the Lord has called you, and if you are responsible to share Jesus every opportunity that you have on the field; then, you are not sharing your need. You are asking for people on the field.
